I stumbled onto this recipe when I used to work for a bakery , yes its good, my son who up until this recipe would only eat stovetop, loves it you need loaf wheat bread, the gritty grainy type (I use a 7 grain type) not wonder bread type loaf rye bread, the dark pumpernickel is great.

What you need:

  • 1 loaf homestyle white bread
(not wonder bread type - French bread is good)
  • 1/2 loaf wheat bread
(a good whole wheat and grain type works best)
  • 1/2 loaf dark rye
    (I use pumpernickel)
  • 1T ground Sage,or poultry seasoning
  • 1 t pepper
  • 1t salt,or to taste
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 can chicken broth , or homemade 1 1/2 c stock

figure for enough to serve 12 people

What you do:

  1. shred all bread, to fine pieces, 1inx1in
  2. add to this
    1T ground Sage,or poultry seasoning
    1 t pepper
    1t salt,or to taste
  3. mix in  4 eggs 1/2 stick butter(more if not baking inside bird) and 1 can or to need of chicken broth, just mix until it sticks together
  4. put in bird and bake, or in pan, cover with foil,
  5. if baking separately , mix it more moist than if using as stuffing

Ham Glazes

Many people like to serve ham for their holiday meal.  After choosing a cook-before-eating, fully cooked, or canned ham selecting a glaze for the ham adds a very special touch.  Before spreading any of these wonderful glazes; score your ham.  This will prevent the glaze from running off the meat and the flavor of the glaze will marinate within the meat.

"Turkey Soup" Gift & Fundraising Idea
turkeysoup100.jpg (11342 bytes)tgturkey.gif (3704 bytes)This easy and charming craft is really a wonderful gift for any and all of the gobblers in your life. We have created a wonderful gift tag that you can easily download and attach to your mug to make this a special gift. The tag has an adorable picture and inside we have written a poem especially dedicated to Thanksgiving. This can be given as an inexpensive and fun favor for a Thanksgiving party, a gift for a favorite relative and friend and a wonderful Thanksgiving centerpiece.  You'll want to make them for your kids. "Turkey Soup" is also a very good project to raise money (fund raising) for organizations like the scouts, churches and/or schools.
