 This
week's Craft of the Week features a fun and cute Easter craft - Hatching Easter Chick.
This is a very simple craft that all kids can do. The supplies are readily
available. The Hatching Easter Chick makes a great Easter decoration and a fine addition
to any Easter basketWhat You Need:
- 2 yellow cotton balls ( or 2 yellow pom-poms)
- 1/2 of a clean egg
shell or cup from an egg carton
- Black construction
paper
- Orange construction paper
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Craft glue
- Craft "grass"
- Eyes
What to do:
To make the eyes of your chick, take the hole punch and black
construction paper punch out two black circles . If you do not want to make the eyes
this way you can use store bought "eyes" that can easily be found at your local
craft store. Just glue them on the top pom pom or cotton ball instead of gluing on
the paper eyes.
- To make the chick's beak use the orange construction paper.
Cut a small square from orange construction paper and fold it in half to form a
triangle for the beak.
- Glue one cotton ball or pom pom into the bottom of the
egg shell. Glue the other cotton ball on top for the head. Hold the two balls together for
1
minute. Attach the eyes and beak to the top cotton ball or pom pom with craft glue.
You can add store bought "grass" to your egg shell or carton cup to make
a pretty nest for your chick.
