Grow a lollipop plant! Whether you are
a teacher, mom, or kid who loves crafts, this is the perfect holiday craft for you and makes a great keepsake. It's very simple and you don't
even need dirt. This is a great festive decoration. You can use any kind of lollipops -
Blow Pops, Tootsie Roll Pops or the traditional non filled pops. According to Shawn
Taylor, "My children and I are making the lollipop tree for Valentines day. Instead of circles, we are cutting
heart shapes. On the outside, we sponged heart shapes and wrote around the rim of the
flower pot "How does your garden grow..." We are making these for the
grandparents this Valentine's Day"What you need:
What you do:
 Decide on
what you would like to paint onto your pot. Pumpkins and other Halloween symbols are good ideas. But you
can choose alls ort of symbol like hearts for Valentine's
Day. Maybe candy corn and other treat designs can be included.
- Once your flower pot has dried apply water based glaze
according to jar instructions. Let the pot completely dry.
- Place a small piece of Styrofoam at the base of the pot. Place
lollipops into the foam and cover generously with Spanish Moss. You may want to use green
Styrofoam so that it blends well with the moss.

The lollipop tree can also be
made a different way. My children and I are making them for Valentines
day. The same way only instead of circles we are cutting heart shapes. On the outside
we sponged heart shaped and wrote around the rim of the flower pot "How does your
garden grow..." We are making these for the grandparents this Valentine's Day.

Cut out flowers from fun foam
From: Henkles
We had made something like this in our pre-school class. Only we cut
out flowers from fun foam but I am sure you could use construction paper. We used the
lollipops for the center of the flowers. It worked great, less lollipops and less
cavities. We also added leaves to the flowers with the foam. : )

Mother's Day
Variant
 From: Martha
Wisniewski
My daughter in law did something close to this last year for mother's day. She took a clay pot, glued
pretty tissue paper on the outside. Put oasis (I guess, I haven't taken it apart). Next
she cut out flower shapes from fun foam and leaves. She hot glued those to green pipe
cleaners. Then she took pictures of my three grandsons and glued them to the center of the
flowers. She cut the pictures in circles. Then stuck them into the flower pot and put fake
moss to hide the oasis. It is so cute. She made one for all the grandparents and
great-grandparents. That would be a good gift to give those family members that you don't
have a clue what to get.
