 These heart shaped pins are charming and easy for the whole family
to make. First you make the following play dough. This dough will last for months in an

What you need:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 1/4 cup salt food coloring
What you do:
 Mix all ingredients,
adding food coloring last. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from pot and knead
until well blended. Place in a bag or airtight container when cooled.
For the Valentine Pins:
What you need:

shaped cookie cutters
- play dough
- wax paper
- 1/4 cup flour
- pin backs
What you do:
- Knead dough on waxed paper until about 1/4 inch in
thickness.
- Using cookie cutter dipped in flour to prevent sticking, cut
out a heart.
- Press pin back into heart while dough is still damp. Allow
to dry for a day.
- You can paint or apply clear varnish to your heart after
thoroughly dried.
