Joe:
Mariaemma Willis, M.S., and Victoria Kindle Hodson, M.A., have written a
sensitive, thought-provoking book that will inspire a new generation of learning. It
honors and celebrates the unique learning styles of all children.
Discover
Your Child's Learning Style challenges the assumption at the heart of
the traditional school system: that all children learn (and therefore should be taught) in
the same way. This exciting new book shows you how to assess and nurture you childs
individual learning potential based on his or her talents, interests, dispositions,
preferred environment and more. The book contains a step-by-step program of self awareness
test that guide you to a better understanding of your childs unique strengths and
weaknesses. Normally, these tests would cost hundreds of dollars, but now you can do it
yourself and help your child achieve a better inner peace while helping them achieve their
goals and fulfill their interests.
 Victoria Kindle Hodson
was born and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She attended Western Washington
University and holds a masters degree in psychology, and a bachelors degree in
education. She is an educational consultant and has taught, developed educational program,
and conducted workshops for parents and teachers for more than 25 years.
Mariaemma Pelullo-Willis
majored in psychology at California State University Northridge and holds a
masters degree in education. She was the director of a private school for children
with "learning disabilities" for eleven years, before going into private
practice. She has taught learning-success strategies and developed assessment and teaching
procedures for adult students as well.
Joe:
Thank you Mariaemma and Victoria for joining us today.
Aspects of learning
Joe:
In your book, you mention the need for getting on your child's team and
discovering your child's "Learning Style." You outlined the "Five Aspects
of Learning Style"- Disposition, Talents, Interests, Modality, and Environment.
Could you touch on how you came up with these aspects and
why they are so useful in trying to become a successful "coach"?
