Chocolate Spiders
 This
week's Dessert of the Week comes from noted cookbook author and chef Gregg Gillespie. His
Chocolate Spiders, featured in his popular book 1001 Chocolate Treats, are perfect for any
Halloween party
or celebration! They are simple to make and delicious to eat! This book is an encyclopedia
of chocolate delights featuring all things chocolate -
from candies
to decadent chocolate cakes. Make sure to make a double batch because your little goblins
will be sure to gobble them up!
Dirt 'n Worms
This is a dessert the kids will love.
Kids just love pretending that this yummy blend of crushed Oreos and whipped topping is
really dirt and worms!
Great Gift & Fundraising Idea
Brownies in a Jar Gift
 Everyone
loves brownies. Brownies are the perfect gift and you'll love our Brownies in a Jar.
All you need is a one quart jar that you can pick up at your local craft store. Just
take the ingredients for the Double Fudge Brownie Mix and fill the jar. You can make
the jar festive by using a colorful ribbon to tie on the recipe instructions along with a
note from you. Using a small piece of material you can also cover the lid of the jar
add the ribbon and you have "wrapped" your gift!
PopCorn Balls
This is an all time favorite sweet.
Popcorn balls are terrific for any holiday like Halloween or as a kid treat for a
job well done. These are very easy to prepare because you'll be using your microwave.
Have the kids join in the fun, they'll like shaping the popcorn into balls.
Peanut Butter Squooshies
This dessert is perfect for a family dinner, a
school party, or pot luck supper. If you are making them for your family just halve the
recipe or make the whole batch and freeze. They go very fast so you won't have to
worry about any left overs. These are super as a last minute snack and for birthday
parties or holiday parties like Halloween (you can use the chocolate graham crackers and
orange sprinkles). They are quick to prepare and even faster to eat!
Chocolate Bottom
Mini-Cupcakes
These are terrific for all of
your ghosts and goblins. This recipe makes six dozen treats. Use a mini-cupcake baking pan
for the baking.
Jack O' Lantern Cake
This recipe features a delicious and beautiful
Jack O' Lantern cake. This cake is perfect for any Halloween party or just a nice
ending to a festive Halloween supper.
Not a recipe, but a great craft & gift idea
Pumpkin Soup
This easy
and charming craft is really a wonderful gift for any and all of the goblins in your life.
We have created a wonderful gift tag that you can easily download and attach to your mug
to make this a special gift. The tag has an adorable picture and inside we have
written a poem especially dedicated to the treats of Halloween. This can be given as an
inexpensive and fun favor for a Halloween party, a gift for a favorite relative and friend
and a wonderful Halloween centerpiece. You'll want to make them for your kids.
