This week's Dessert of the Week features a
decadent ice cream topping, Almond Crunch. This delicious confection is easy to make
and scrumptious on ice cream. After a long day Almond Crunch atop a bowl of creamy
vanilla ice cream is a wonderful reward!What you need:
- 1 cup of blanched almonds
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
What you do:
- Heat oven to 325 degrees. Set aside a non-stick baking
sheet.
- In a medium bowl, toss together almonds and sugar, and 2
tablespoons of water. Spread almonds evenly over the baking sheet.
- Bake until golden, about 18 minutes. Transfer pan to a
wire rack to cool completely. Store almond crunch in an airtight container until
ready to use.
Purple Passion Smoothie
This smoothie is perfect for anytime of the
day and makes a nutritious after dinner dessert. You can use either fresh or frozen
blueberries.
