Remember your grandmother's kitchen? Remember all
those great smells and delicious goodies? This week's Dessert of the Week promises

- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
- 1 cup of sifted all-purpose flour
What you do:
- Melt butter and chocolate over boiling water in a double
boiler. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar with either a beater or by hand with a
large spoon. Beat in eggs and remaining ingredients. Combine thoroughly.
- Spread into a buttered 9x13 inch baking pan and bake in a
preheated oven at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
Garnish with whipped cream before serving.
For cakelike brownies, use a 9x9 pan.
Chocolate Half Moon Cookies
This week's Dessert is brought to us by
Susan McNeil. She has shared her recipe for Chocolate Half Moon Cookies. These
goodies are similar to the traditional Black and White Cookies but with extra chocolate
and brown sugar. Perfect for the chocolate lover
and Valentine's Day! Thanks for the
terrific recipe Susan : )!
Black & White Cookie
As a native New Yorker and as a young girl
living in New York, I would use my newspaper route money to buy one of these delicious
cookies from my local bakery. Back then I didn't care how they were made as long as I had
my black and white cookie every week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do !
Honey Cookies
This week's Cookie of the Week is
brought to us from Gregg Gillespie the author of the incredible 1001 Cookie Recipes.
Gregg's Honey Cookies are perfect for the holidays and every day. They are simple to
prepare and even easier to eat! Kids will love to get in on rolling the dough into little
balls! Honey Cookies make a wonderful holiday
gift when placed in an attractive cookie tin or as an addition to any gift
basket. |
