Chocolate Coated Liquer Cherries
From: Fiona

candymaking.jpg (6000 bytes)YUM!  I made these once years ago but can't remember which method I used.  I know these two both work so perhaps you can decide.

  • Method One:
Using firm ripe fruit, place them in a bowl and pour you liquoer over them, cover and then put in refrigerator over night.  The next day remove them from the liquer and pat dry on paper towel.  Then dip in melted chocolate and leave to set.   Best served cold from refrigerator.
  • Method Two:
A friend once (somehow? removed the stone without breaking the fruit and injected each fruit with the liquer to fill the hole left by the pip.  She then just dipped them straight in melted choc (Which seals them, keeping the liquer inside) and put them in the refrigerator until needed.

Hope this helps you.  I love this group, there have been some great recipes through these pages!  Thanks all.  Keep safe.
Fiona

Story of the Candy Cane
candymaking.jpg (6000 bytes)This is a very nice explanation of the meaning behind the candy cane which you can print out. It was sent to us by Dana who says, "I have a story of the candy cane that I hope you like.  I hope  that everyone is enjoys this and passes it along."

Black & White Cookie
As a native New Yorker and as a young girl living in New York, I would use my newspaper route money to buy one of these delicious cookies from my local bakery. Back then I didn't care how they were made as long as I had my black and white cookie every week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do !

Homemade Marshmallows
summer.jpg (3674 bytes)Ever wonder where marshmallows come from? Well, here is a fun and tasty way to find out. These are great for the holidays packaged in colorful cellophane or just for dessert. Food coloring can be added for rainbow marshmallows! Have the kids help- they are sure to get a kick out of it!
