No-Bake Chocolate Crunchies

chocolate.jpg (6027 bytes)This week's Cookie of the week features No bake Chocolate Crunchies.  These will satisfy the chocoholic in any family and are a snap to make. Count the kids in making Chocolate Crunchies, this recipe is excellent for older children to prepare.

 What You Need:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

What You Do:

  1. Coat a  1-inch wide band of butter around the rim of a 3 quart pan to prevent boil-over.
  2. Combine milk, sugar, cocoa, butter and peanut butter.
  3. Stir and bring to boil over medium heat. Let boil for 1 1/2 minutes, do not stir.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in oats and vanilla. Stir until oats evenly distributed.
  5. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper. Cool. Makes 4 to 5 dozen

S'Mores
I remember making these delicious cookies at the campfire when I was a Girl Scout. This recipe is for S’Mores prepared in the oven. Even your littlest scout can help make these goodies. No wonder everyone always asks for more S’Mores!
