Green Bean Bake With a Twist

suexmas100.jpg (12433 bytes)Recipe of the Week features a popular, old- time family favorite, the Classic Green Bean Bake ! Great for Christmas and Thanksgiving or just anytime for Sunday dinner? You don't have to wait for a holiday. Make everyday a holiday with this bean bake. Top your casserole with shredded mozzarella cheese for a delicious twist.

What you need:

  • tgturkey.gif (3704 bytes)1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 packages ( 9 ounces each) of frozen green beans, cooked and drained OR: 2 cans ( 1 pound each) green beans drained.
  • 2 cans ( 2.8 ounces each ) French-fried onions
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

What you do:

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  2. Mix in soup, milk, soy sauce, and pepper in casserole. Stir in beans and 1 can onions.
  3. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Stir well. Top with cheese and then with the remaining onions. Then bake for 10 more minutes.

Everyone's Casserole
This is a casserole that is perfect for the whole family. While your pot is hot you won't be.  This dish will let you get out of the kitchen and still have a tasty dinner after an afternoon of fun in the sun.

This week's Recipe of the Week features a wonderful Meat Loaf.  This dish can be made ahead of time and place in the refrigerator or freezer until you are ready to bake it. This recipe was shared with us from Terry a terrific cook and member of our Families-First community.
