The kids will enjoy
making these earrings for themselves or as gifts. Be creative with the designs and you'll
be sure to have a true piece artwork! It's also a great gift for Mom or for that favorite teacher!!What you need:
- Cardboard
- Colored paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Colored pens
- Markers
- Glitter
What you do:
- Draw your designs onto cardboard and cut them out.
- Cut a "V" in the center of each shape. This is
what you use to attach the earring to your ear.
- The "V" should spring back in place if you use
cardboard.
- Cut matching shapes out of colored paper to cover the
cardboard earrings. Glue to one side of the cardboard and decorate.
- Experiment with different designs. You can make the earrings
as simple or as outrageous as you like. Birds, animals, flowers, shapes- it's up to you!
Sunflower Seed Necklace
This week's Craft of the Week is sunflower
seed necklaces. I love sunflowers and grow them every summer. They are easy to grow and
require very little care- just plenty of sun ! They are a wonderful introduction to
gardening for any preschooler. After the flowers have bloomed, your youngest can still
have a wonderful remembrance of her sunflowers with this necklace. It is a terrific way to
use the seeds from sunflowers and inspire the gardener in every child.
Cheerful Cookie Box
 Kathy Ross, the
popular craft book author, has written a new book craft book called Crafts
for Christian Values. Kathy's latest book is filled with wonderful
crafts and ideas to help children learn about Christian values
and what they mean. This easy-to-do craft lets you take disposable plastic containers,
photos, drawings, and old greeting cards to make a wonderful keepsake. It's so easy that even the little ones can
do it too. |
