This craft features a great gift
for Dad on Father's day or Mom on Mother's Day or a wonderful Christmas Gift. This Footprint Craft includes
both the child's footprint, a nice momento, and a wonderful, touching poem. Write
the poem in the shape of a large footprint using waterproof marker. Using
watercolors or watered down tempera paints paint the child's foot and print it over the
written poem a couple of time. After all is dried laminate the piece of paper and attach
string on the back for hanging.Footprints
"Walk a little slower daddy," said a child so
small. "I'm following in your
footsteps and I don't want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.

Add a Heart button on Mom's
and a Fish Hook on Dad's

Denning
Hello, this is a great idea. I'm a Den leader of a Boy Scout group. We did this
project for both parents. We went a little bit futher. Instead of paper, we use Mat Board
for pictures. That way they can just put it in a frame. We also added a Heart button on
Mom's and a Fish Hook with some line on it on Dad's. I also covered the end of the hook
with Hot Glue. That way little hands would not get hurt. I just found your site and I plan
on using it alot. Thanks Thank You, Cindy

The father's day poem is excellent and beautiful. Miss candy found the poem and
we think we made the best father's day gift. She did the shirts in our day care room
. The children loved creating shirts to go along with it. The poem went into a card
with the footprints on the bottom. I asked the children What is a dad? and wrote their
answer on the front. for the back - we colored a picture of dad and gave him the greatest
dad cretificate. For the children who did not have a dad living in the
house, we gave the card to their greatest male person.

I also used this poem with a different twist. I printed it out on an
iron-on T-Shirt transfer, and my daughter painted her feet with fabric paint and
put her footprints on either side of the poem on the shirt. I can't wait to
see my dh's reaction. Thanks for the idea.

Just wanted to tell you that poem was one of the sweetest from child to father
I'd ever seen. It made me want to cry. I think it will have the same effect on my hubby
when he gets it. Thanks.

Hi!
Your poem went perfectly with our Father's day gift. We made a stepping stone using mortar
mix, a plastic flower pot bottom, and stained glass chips. My daughter stepped in the
concrete and then I wrote "Happy Father's Day!" in it using a stick (she's only
16 months old) and then we put the stained glass chips in it. I think it turned out
beautifully. We will give it to Dada this weekend along with a homemade (finger painted)
card with your poem in enclosed. Thanks!
