How to color the
water
From: Dr.
Kain
Oil and water do not mix.
Quantities do not matter too much. The paint (or food color) mixes only with the
water to color the water - it is the best way to see the difference between oil and water.
In place of paint or food color, try using a colorful water
such as red (or purple) cabbage quartered and boiled - it will be a blue/purple color.
Also, cooked carrots turn the water a little orange. You may think of something else
already cooked at your school! And that way you are recycling the water and only need to
pay for the oil.
Rock Crystals
Crystals will begin to form. As the water
continues to evaporate, the bowl will be filled with rock crystals. Find out how to do
this.
