This week's Craft of the Week features the Mother's Day Pillow.   This remembrance is perfect for any mom or dad and a lot of fun to make for any kid!

Choose cotton inexpensive pillows from your local craft or linen store that
have a light or white fabric.  Using a pencil lightly trace your design right onto the pillow.  By using fabric paints your colors will be vibrant and have texture too.

These pillows can be washed in the gentle cycle with cold water.

What you need:

• Cotton pillow with light fabric
• Fabric paints
• Paint Brush
• White paper
• Pencil
• Straight pins

What you do:

1. Using the paper and pencil draw your design.  Make sure the paper is about the size of what you want your drawing to be on the pillow.    After drawing the design then turn the paper over and suing your pencil shade the entire back of the paper.  This will get your design exactly as you want it on the pillow.
2. Place your paper with the drawing facing you and pin to the pillow.  use as many pins as necessary to attach the paper securely.  then using your pencil gently trace over your design.  When you are done your design should be on the pillow.
3. Using the fabric paints trace and "color" your design.  You can use a pint brush to "fill" in sections of your design by placing some paint in a paper cup and using the paint brush and fabric paints.
4. Once you have finished "painting" your Mother's Day Pillow, place on a smooth surface and allow to dry completely- this should take 24 hours.

A Child's Footprint
This craft features a great gift for Dad on Father's day or Mom on Mother's Day. This Footprint Craft includes both the child's footprint, a nice momento, and a wonderful, touching poem.  Write the poem in the shape of a large footprint using waterproof marker.  Using watercolors or watered down tempera paints paint the child's foot and print it over the written poem a couple of time. After all is dried laminate the piece of paper and attach string on the back for hanging.

Mother's Day Gift Buckets
To show that you appreciate and love your mom why don't you make her this wonderful gift "bucket"?  After decorating the bucket, fill it with all the items your mom loves- perfume,candy, books, facial cream, lotions etc...  She'll love the gifts and the homemade container.  For the little ones you can paint the bucket white let it dry and then using another color of metal paint and place the child's hand in the paint to make handprints all over the bucket.  Not only will this be a terrific gift, but a perfect mom keepsake!
