This craft is brought to us
by Scarlett from our online craft group. This is a fabulous idea for your Christmas cards.
How many of us get them, but dont know what to do with them after the holidays ?
This idea allows us to make our cards into keepsakes. What a terrific idea! What you need:
What you do:
- I saw a really neat way to reuse old Christmas cards this
year.
- They were used as Christmas decorations.
- Someone took just the fronts of the cards and then cut them
in half, glued lace and other trim to one side, fan folded the halves, then fastened the
bottom with pretty bows and hung them on the tree. They were so pretty and reminded me of
old Victorian type ornaments.
- They also made frames out of canning jar rims and trimmed
with lace and all sorts of pretty trimmings and hung those on the tree too.
- It looked really simple to do but the end result was nice.
Just some ideas that I have seen.

Use old cards for
name tags
From: Paula
I use my old Christmas card for name tags.I
cut off the inside or the back page.If there is a kids card I try to put that one on a
kids present. There is another neat craft with Christmas card you make small boxes and put
small bows on top of then.I use these for table name tags I write the person name on them.
That way verybody knows where they suppost to set. These are the ones I use alot during the
holidays.
Use construction paper to make gift tags
From Wezie
How about cutting off the back and glueing
them onto colored paper and punching a hole in the corner and tieing it with a string and
using them for their presents this year as gift tags. You can even turn them over to write
on them. If you do not want to use the whole front of the card, try just cutting out
around a certain figure and placing that on the tag so you can still write on the front.
Hope this helps.
Gift tags and
decorations for presents
From Sue
I like to use old christmas cards as gift tags and
decorations for presents.
- Just cut the cards up into various sized stars
(a template is easy to make)
and don't forget to use the verse inside.
- Use one each of the picture and verse for each gift, writing
your message on the back of the picture. If you tie them separately they will come out at
different angles.
- I then glue the other smaller stars randomly over the
package. Some of the foil confetti stars look great as well.
This is a great way to jazz up plain brown or white paper and you can use any coloured
ribbon you like.
Hope you like it

Buttery Spritz
Christmas Cookies
Buttery Spritz cookies are my family's
favorite Christmas cookie. My daughters love to decorate these goodies with green and red
sugar crystals before they go into the oven. These are always the first cookies to vanish
out of the cookie tin during the holidays.
