This is a super project to keep materials and mementos organized and
place them in the book as soon after the activiy as possible. You don't want to be digging
around for Christmas memorabilia in July. Ziploc bags are one way to keep items safe and
organized.
What you need:
- Stick glue or white craft glue
- Markers
- Preprinted paper
- Colored paper
- Paper to write on
What you do:
 Using
the construction paper cut out the numbers for 1999. You can do the same for your child's
name. Glue this to the first page of the book.
- Have your child write her/his thoughts on this day, the
first day ( or week) of the new year. You may want to include clippings from the newspaper
or magazines as a way to record the happenings for the beginning of this new year. This is
a good idea whenever an "entry" is being made in the scrapbook.
- The first pages may center around your child's holidays.
This may include pictures, mementos and some writing by your child about her/his holiday
season.
- Have a wonderful time making this special recording of your
child's lfe. Remember to include favorite animals, colors, stickers to really personalize
the book.

Scrapbooking
for Preschoolers
From: Laura
I am a Creative Memories Consultant, homeschool mom, and have taught early
childhood classes. Some suggestions for scrapbooking for preschoolers:
- Have each child draw a picture on a page. On the opposite
page, the child can dictate to a teacher about their picture. Mount a picture of the child
on that page.
- Each teacher should have a page with their picture and their
writing about the year, the kids, their philosophies, etc.
- The first page could be a picture of the school with all the
kids writing their names around it.
- Other ideas:
- Do their handprints on their page (use pigma ink).
- Have a mom or dad volunteer to take pictures of the kids
during the day and mount them in order of their day, one per page: Arrival time (I have a
great picture of a girl wiping off her dad's kiss!), circle time, story time, craft time,
snack time, outside time, etc.
- Our preschool always kept a single use camera around for
those special moments, that always seem to happen when you DON'T have a camera around!!
