Along with the sneaks, fancy, colorful socks
celebrate the warm and beauty of spring or lift our spirits in the shortening days of fall or even for the lengthening days of spring. Nifty socks are a wonderful craft for
kids of all ages. This is a terrific way to decorate socks and have fun ! Remember to
pre-wash the socks before decorating. What you need:
- Light colored socks
- Fabric paint
- Beads and buttons
- Embroidery floss and needle
What to do:
- With a pencil lightly draw where any beads, buttons and
painted designs should be. All these should be above the ankle point of the sock.
- Sew any buttons and/or beads onto the socks first. Be
creative- small pearl beads would be lovely for the cuff of socks.
- Embroidery floss is a wonderful item to use for decorating
socks. Initials can be sewed onto the sides of the socks for a very person look.
- Lastly, fabric paint can be used. Look at the directions on
the paint's package for ideas on how to use the paint tip creatively. Wait 24 hours, for
the paint to dry, before wearing socks.
