 Spring,
believe it or not, is coming! I can hardly wait for the flowers to bloom and the
temperature to inch up! Here are a few spring craft ideas to that will get the Gloomiest
Gus into the swing of spring!
What you need:
- Newspaper
- Clean eggshell halves
- Egg carton
- Soil
- Seeds
- Water
- Plastic bag
What you do:
- Show your child the seeds. Explain what they are and what
they will grow into. If your kids are older let them pick out the kind of seeds they would
like to grow.
- Gather the materials and spread out the newpaper. Fill the
eggshells with soil (2/3s full), and plant a few seeds in each.
- Set the shells in the egg carton and moisten the soil. Cover
the carton with the plastic wrap to keep in the moisture, and set in a dark place.
- Check daily; water as needed. When you see sprouts, unwrap
the carton and place the plants in a sunny indoor spot.
- Once the weather begins to warm, plant the sprouts, eggshells
and all-in the ground. Break out the bottoms of the shells to accelerate the decomposition
process.)
