Here's a fun and kind of messy idea that is great for all kids.
It's a turkey shirt. You use your kids hands to make the "turkeys". This also
makes a nice momento for us sentimental moms : )
KeepsakesWhat you need:
- a tee shirt
- the size of the child that you're making it for
- fabric paint
- paper plates or better yet tin pie plate
- piece of cardboard
What you do:
- Prewash the shirt. Place a piece of cardboard between the
front and back of the shirt for support. Pour paint into pie plate. Clean your child's
hand. Here's the messy part --- place your child's hand IN the paint. Yes in the paint!
The kids will LOVE how it feels.
- Take the hand and place on the shirt so that the fingers are
partially flared, like feathers of a turkey. You can repeat the pattern of turkeys all
over the shirt.
- If you like, after the shirt has dried, you can use fabric
paint in a tube to outline and decorate the turkeys on the shirt. Also your child, with
help from you, can write their name on the shirt with the date.
Turkey Napkin Rings
Here is another fun and attractive turkey craft.
My daughter Evamarie created these
wonderful napkin rings on a rainy Friday afternoon. I think they are fabulous and hope you
do too! They are made from toilet paper rolls, construction paper and a bit of Fun Foam.
This craft is perfect for kids age 5 and older. Happy Thanksgiving !
"Turkey Soup" Gift &
Fundraising Idea
This easy and charming craft is really a wonderful gift for any and
all of the gobblers in your life. We have created a
wonderful gift tag that you can easily download and attach to your mug to make this a
special gift. The tag has an adorable picture and inside we have written a poem especially
dedicated to Thanksgiving. This can be given as an inexpensive and fun favor for a Thanksgiving party, a gift for a
favorite relative and friend and a wonderful Thanksgiving centerpiece. You'll
want to make them for your kids. "Turkey Soup" is also a very good project to
raise money (fund raising) for organizations like the scouts, churches and/or schools.
Are you ready for Christmas?
