This craft is brought to you by a good friend and member of our
Mom-to-Mom community Martha Wisniewski She shares with us a Christmas tree craft for
the whole family. It uses simple wrapping paper, a poster board and construction paper to
make to make a fully decorated tree. It's great for parties
too! Thanks Martha!What
you need:
- Roll of solid green foil wrapping paper
- Roll of wrapping paper with toys or ornaments on it
- Poster Board - full sheet (1 3/4' x 2 1/4')
- Brown construction
paper
- Small piece of Gold foil wrapping paper
- Glue (tacky or Elmer's)
What you do:
- Cut the poster board into a large triangle. Parts cut off
can be taped together to make a 2nd tree.
- Cut brown construction paper for the trunk. Glue to base of
triangle. I attached it to the back side.
- Unroll the green wrapping paper face down. Use your and
everyone else's hands. Trace around all hands. Be sure to spread your fingers apart
alittle and use both hands. Cut out the hands a row at a time.
- Glue the hands, starting at the bottom of the tree. Glue
fingers down. (The pinkey side goes well on the edges.) Don't overlap, just put close
together. The next row over laps the first a little bit (Like shingles on a roof). Cover
the posterboard like this all the way to the top. If you have little bits of posterboard
peeking thru, use your scrap pieces to fill in.
- Next cut a star from shirt board/poster board. Cover with
the gold foil paper. Glue to top of tree.
- Take the paper with toys/ornaments and cut the whole items
from the paper. I only used about 2 full rows of items down the length of the roll. Glue
these on the tree.
- Now you have a fully decorated tree!
Apple Ornaments
This wonderful combination
reveals a spicy holiday scent and provides a beautiful ornament for your Christmas tree.
Pat was generous enough to provide us with this fabulously easy and fun craft. Pat says,
"My son loved doing them. They turn out really nice, you can't make a mistake pouring
glitter onto a glue shape and the kids feel very successful. And, of course, the smell is
great."
Kathy's Christmas Wreath
How do you decorate a small space?
Craft author Kathy Ross says, "My parents are in their late 80s and have
moved from a large house to a small bungalow in a managed care facility. They could take
only a small number of their many lovely things, so Christmas ornaments was not a high
priority. Here's a great way to make a gift and bring back the memories of our many
decades of Christmases as a family, without crowding their limited living space.
Recycled Christmas Cards
This craft is
brought to us by Scarlett from our online craft group. This is a fabulous idea for your
Christmas cards. How many of us get them, but dont know what to do with them after
the holidays ? This idea allows us to make our cards into keepsakes. What a terrific idea! |
