Garden Glove Doll
This
is a great dollmaking craft from one of our
craftzone members, Joan Mayo from Casa Grande, Arizona who gave us this great fabric craft idea on how to recycle
those used gloves to make a treasured keepsake.
She says, "I have been living in Casa Grande Arizona for 6 yrs. I am disabled and
love to do crafts. My grandaughter Desirae is doing crafts and always wants me to send her
something, so a friend found the garden glove doll and told me about it. When I went to
visit the grandkids we made them. We made clowns, Firemen, train conductors, flower people
and many more. Hope everyone enjoys the dolls."Knitting:
A New Trend
by Joanne Spataro

imagine their own white-haired grandmothers creating sweaters and scarves in their rocking
chairs. However, grandma was actually setting future trends. Today, the lost art of
knitting has turned into one of the hottest hobbies that is sweeping the nation. How can
you get started knitting? Read more about it and then join our craft discussion
group, ask your questions and share your treasures.

 Homeschooler Jennie
Chancey was able to take advantage of the flexibility offered by homeschooling to learn
how to sew. She has turned this love into a successful business
called Sense & Sensibility. I had the opportunity to interview Jennie and ask her a
few questions about homeschooling, her vintage dressmaking business and how she is helping
other homeschoolers to share in her love of vintage dressmaking.

Felt is a wonderful and versatile fabric to
work with. It is so simple to use in many craft projects. I love the fact that the edges
of felt are always finished and don't require hemming. Pinking shears make nice scalloped
edges. These felt ornaments make beautiful holiday gifts and can be personalized. |
