of all ages. This is a terrific way to decorate socks and have fun ! Remember to pre-wash
the socks before decorating.
Pumpkin Seed Flower
 This craft is brought to you by
Irene Hayes. She is the mother, works part time and has been co-chair of her kids' school
council the past 2 years and is president of the P.T.O. Irene's children love to do
crafts, so she has cupboards and cupboards in the basement filled with anything and
everything that you can make a craft with. This is an excellent craft for all ages
especially for our preschoolers. The seeds can be used to help with both counting and
spatial skills (placing the seeds in the circle).
Apple Votive
This features our Harvest Festival Craft which is a wonderfully
beautiful symbol of autumn is sure to liven up any dinner table. They can also be
placed in a large pot of water and set out on the porch; the apples will float- lights
dancing in the night.
Potpourri Molds
These crafts are very simple and can be
completed using household items. You can also use the dough like clay and make a
sculpture. This is a fun way to make beautiful and great smelling pieces of art!
Potpourri Gel Jars
 This
week's Craft of the Week features a wonderful gift that children of any age can make. Gel
Jars are beautifully decorated, scented gifts. They are sure to liven up any room
with their fragrance. You'll want to choose scents which your mom likes. You can
substitute potpourri oil for the essential oils in this craft.
Turkey & Black Bean Chili
This is a spicy and hearty fall dish. The black beans and turkey
compliment each other in this chili. You can top it with a non-fat sour cream and chopped
scallions. Rice can be included too. Tofu can be nicely substitued for the turkey. One
pound of tofu cut into cubes can be added into the chili before serving- just long enough
to be heated through.

make a lovely pumpkin from old panty hose
 This is a lovely
pumpkin craft comes from Kathy Ross' book, "Crafts for all Seasons" that you can
make out of old pantyhose and some fiberfill.
You can make it as a nice fall craft or you can
modify it for Halloween by adding a face.
Apple Printed Potholders
Printing is a wonderful craft for any age. It
works well for groups of children and the individual. Boys and girls love to make prints
using various fruits and vegetables as their templates. This print will use an apple that
is cut in half. Another crafter, Darlene, uses pieces of (old and worn) bath towels
instead of polyester batting. One of our crafters, Ann, says, "Apple Printing can be
used in other ways, too! My daughter and her children apple-printed on blank note
cards." Join in the fun and give one of your suggestions!!
Halloween & Fall Centerpieces
 This craft is great
for decorating your house, classroom, or party table. It can easily become a Fall
decoration if you decide to make the wooden craft spoons into pumpkins, apples, or acorns
just by using the appropriate colored acrylic paint. For example, if you would rather make
pumpkins instead of ghosts for your centerpiece, then by painting the wooden craft spoons
orange and making pumpkin faces you have a fun pumpkin Halloween or fall centerpiece.
Halloween Pots are simple to make, kids from age 4 and up can have fun making these
festive Halloween decorations.
Homemade Shell Candles
This is a
terrific project for all those shells you have been collecting this summer. Try to use
large and deep shells to make the candles- they will work best to hold the paraffin most
effectively.These candles are excellent to accessorize your house and make fun gifts- it's

For this craft, all you need is a beautiful
