Cheerful Cookie Box
 Kathy Ross, the
popular craft book author, has written a new book craft book called Crafts
for Christian Values. Kathy's latest book is filled with wonderful
crafts and ideas to help children learn about Christian values
and what they mean. This easy-to-do craft lets you take disposable plastic containers,
photos, drawings, and old greeting cards to make a wonderful keepsake. It's so easy that even the little ones can do
it too.Sit-A-Pon
a gift for the gardening teacher
The Sit-A-Pon is created by using very simple household materials; old plastic
tablecloth, magazines, and yarn. I first made a Sit-A-Pon when I was a Girl Scout. I
still remember that pink and white soft square that protected my knees while gardening as
a small girl. The Sit-A-Pon can be personalized just for your mom. You can use water
proof magic markers to write her name and her favorite colored yarn to sew the edging.
My Special Cloth Book
Put some special
memories in a book you can give.
This craft is brought to us by Roberta Ross-Fisher and she says,
"All children enjoy having ownership in their work, and they especially like to
complete projects which focus on themselves. Bookmaking can be a fun and easy way to help
children at various ages and ability levels to communicate through writing."
Cardboard Earrings
The kids will enjoy making these earrings for themselves or as gifts. Be creative with the designs and you'll be sure to
have a true piece artwork! Experiment with different designs. You can make the earrings as
simple or as outrageous as you like. Birds, animals, flowers, shapes- it's up to you! They
make great gifts for moms, teachers or a great addition to your Halloween outfit.
Dessert-of-the-Week
Toffee Bars
This week's Dessert of the Week features the
sinfully delicious Toffee Bars. This candy is fun for a special treat or dressed up in a
candy tin as a great gift. These bars are simple to make and the kids can help make
them too!
Lollipop Plants
Grow a lollipop plant ! Whether you are a teacher, mom,
or kid who loves crafts, this is the perfect for you. It's very simple and you don't even
need dirt. This is great as both a festive decoration and treat
holder. You can use any kind of lollipops- Blow Pops, Tootsie Roll Pops or
the traditional non filled pops.
