Christmas Gift Exchange Story
Jenn sent in this story that is used for a Christmas Gift
Exchange. She says, "Have each guest bring a wrapped gift for the gift exchange.
Everyone sits in a circle while a narrator reads the following story. Each time the words
LEFT, RIGHT, or WRIGHT are mentioned, the gifts are passed in that direction. Each person
will keep the gift they are holding at the end of the story."
It's a lot of fun and you can print our the story to use at your party.
"The Gift of Christmas" - a story
by Linda Thomas
I was late
getting off work on Christmas Eve and I hurried across to the Department store, hoping it
was still open.I had to buy a scarf as a last minute gift for my daughter, which she just
had to have she had told me this morning....I noticed a small boy, about seven years old
with his face pressed against the window. He was dressed in shabby clothes, with only a
sweater to ward off the cold.

Christmas Rush
by Linda
Thomas
Christmas is a joyous time of year
It is filled with happiness and good cheer.
Rushing to and fro,
Always on the go.
Shopping lists seem to grow as days go by,
In the middle of the night you think of something,
You forgot to get.
For some uncle or cousin you have never met.
But while you are running everywhere
For this and that
Do you have the time to stop and care,
To sit with your child and have a chat.
Can you see the ones that have less than you
Or does your personal errands obstruct your view.
STOP! Take time to listen and look around.
Many opportunities to share can be found.
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year.
It is for everyone and everything we hold dear.
For all of us there is no doubt,
What Christmas really is about!
Born In A Manger
by Whitney
Stauner
I am 12 years old. I have been writing for as long as I can
remember. The reason I like to write is because it is fun and it is one of my natural
talents and I like to use it. I wrote the following poem for Christmas & thought I
would send it in to you. Merry Christmas! Whitney S.
A long time ago in a little manger
Was born a tiny little stranger.
Though he was only little, he was a king,
And all the angels began to sing.
Came all the shepherds with their sheep,
giving the baby gifts to keep.
All of the people and angels began to sing
about this tiny little king.
And to this day we celebrate with bliss
This wonderful day called Christmas.
"Now THIS is
Christmas"
by Mary Lynn
Maddox
Lots of people
Crowds everywhere
Rushing and pushing and shoving
Going nowhere
It's christmas time again
Have to get all those things done
Hussle, bussle, quickly
We must beat the sun
Must get this and must get that
Maybe this nic, maybe that nak
When did it happen
When did we lose track
It's a race, yes it is
We are running, yes we are
But lets not forget
Before we get too far
What is really really important
Doesn't take much to figure out
Take time to love
and love from the heart
You feel that warm glow?
That's a start
Now accept His love
He's in your heart
Now you can reach out
Enjoy your holiday
Give to those around you
And don't forget to pray
Now the joy of Christmas
Can really fill you up
All the rest is meaningless
Lord, fill my cup
This is Christmas
This is what it is about
Without Jesus there is only doubt
Christmas without Christ?
Who ever heard of such a thing
"A Christmas
Poem"
By Evamarie Spataro, age 10
Sleigh bells, snowflakes, and more
to some this means Christmas
Christmas is special and magical
and anything can happen
A tree in your home is a tradition
Bells and lights will be hung from its majestic branches
An angel, a star, or even a Santa Clause on top makes it all worthwhile
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year
"I
remember"
by Joseph Esqueda, age 13
I remember the sweet scent of the red roses.
I remember the wonderful sight of blue violets.
I remember you on the beautiful beach,
Under the warm gleaming sun,
Drinking ice cold soda,
Playing in the clear tropical waters,
Walking on the soft white sand,
Feeling its softness under our feet,
Watching the happy people play without care,
And all the while you were with me.
