My Love
by Linda
On one sad and frightful day
My love was taken from me
I don't know what to do or say
For life without him I cannot see
I'm so lonely and full of fear
Oh, my love I want you near
He had not planned to leave
As I, had not planned to grieve
He was a fireman, true and brave
But that day, his life he gave
The buildings came tumbling down
And pinned my love to the ground.
Because of planes that hit our state
By men that were filled with hate
On the day of September eleven
My love was sent to Heaven.

The most
beautiful poem I have ever read
From: Kathleen
I just want to say to you that was that was the most beautiful poem I have ever read. My
heart and thoughts are with you and I hope it is some comfort that your love passed away a
hero, to you, me, and to America. Thank you.
I Hold In My Hand
By Brittany
I hold in my hand a picture of you,
Those perfect white teeth are showing through.
I loved the dance your eyes always did,
And every single time you laughed you still looked like a kid.
But all of that changed when you put on the green,
and the message came saying you hadn't been seen,
After the last battle fought in the hills of Germany.
A picture of you in my hands I hold,
As I say one last prayer that I hope you are told.
When you look down from way up above,
You'll think of me with a heart full of love.
The
Valentine I Couldn't Have
by Leane
My heart cries out for you though my lips
speak out forced words and false smiles.
To be with you is a dream, rudely awaken
each time I reach out too close.
Emotions shout from our eyes and yet
I cannot kiss the lips I long for.
It's a funny feeling this pain in my heart
for it's not caused by you, but by another.
So even though I long to hold you in my arms,
I shall pretend everything is okay,
and let my heart cry.
You Make Me Feel
by Sherry
For Joe, who taught me the
definition of love.
No matter what the future holds,
I'll always remember - - and love you.
I have newfound strength that has joined my soul to yours.
My dying heart, like a miracle, has been revived.
I was slowly fading into the shadows and backgrounds
of other people's lives; traveling a road of self-destruction;
but you so beautifully blocked my path.
An answered prayer.
Only one key could unlock my self-made prison,
and you, my love, contained it in your touch.
I had forgotten for so long what it was like
to experience joy.
You make me want to feel again.
And now.
Now I am a queen on a throne!
I can soar to heights unknown to birds or planes!
Even the stars are jealous with envy.
With you by my side, I have become the definition of happiness.
Be my king, and we will rule the world together.
We will become the masters of love,
which had never been defined until
we saw ourselves through one anothers eyes.
No jewel observed by a mortal gaze
could ever compare to the radiance that I see in you.
You are more precious than the purest gold.
Let me love you.
Just take my hand, my dear, and walk with me.
Side by side is where we belong.
For eternity.
Everyday
From Renee
Everyday I wake up and wonder what I did to
deserve you.
I wonder if twenty years from now you'll love me as your Mother.
I wonder if I'm raising you the way a mother ought to.
That when your all grown up you'll respect the things I taught you.
I wonder if you'll love me and look up to me the way you do now.
I wonder if you know that the discipline was out of love that I was trying to hurt you.
I wonder what I did to get such a special gift,
I wonder if God knows that I love you more than the life that I live.
Everyday I wake and wonder if twenty years from now you'll love me as your Mother.
I pray if I only do one thing right before I die it was being a good Mother.
It
took only one thing from you
From: Mary
It took only one thing
from you
It was only one song that you sung which
Made me admire the beauty of words
It was only one flower you offered that
Made me your devotee for life.
It was only one message you sent that
Made me an avid reader
It was only one olive branch extended for peace that
Made me an advocate of nature
It was only one smile composed by your lips that
Made me realize that happiness can be freely given
It was only one word spoken by you that
Made me frame the goal in my life
It was only one candle that you lit that
Made me contemplate the darkness in my life
It was only one step you took to my heart which
Made me aware that my journey is with you
It was only one moment you took for reflection that
Made me ponder over the wisdom of ages
It was only one prayer you meditated silently that
Made me a disciple of the Almighty
To think that it took only one thing from you
To make me see so many good things in my life
To make me a human-being, to make me
The kind of person I have only thought in my dreams
Valentine of Hope for Lonely Hearts
From: Carolyn
(written and dedicated to my
darling, brilliant husband: Ray)
 I don't normally write poetry
although I did write a poem about David and the Giants when their first song came out.
When it ignited the world outside the Christian community, I found myself breaking out
into poetry. I sent it to my local radio station ... and low and behold ... they called me
to ask if they could read it on the air. And they did ... several times that day. I no
longer have most of my writings or even that poem ... but this was a task of love for the
man in my life, who changed my life ... so sweetly. May I always have the ability to
remember what my world was like before him ... so he knows how much he's impacted me. And
it's a hope ... for lonely hearts still drifting ... and thinking there's no one out there
or them ... in all that deafening "space". Don't ever give up ... what you're
looking for may be right around the corner when you least expect it ... so remember to
take some peeks!!! :)
Push! It hummed and came to life that day,
Merrily, people to talk to, a place to play.
I started off a complete nitwit,
But found a place where even a lonely heart fit.
I'd found a place that never shuts down,
Online 24/7 ... where dreams can be found.
I wandered the surf and sampled the net,
My hours each day were finally set.
I entered the chatrooms and low and behold!
So many conversations ... so many so bold.
I met a friend who was rather quiet and yet,
We were drawn to each other as gamblers to bet.
She introduced me to an even brighter world,
And from here to there, even more worlds unfurled.
It was amazing for a gal as quiet as me,
That this world around me had just come to be.
I exchanged id numbers and id personas
Without realizing at all what comes upon us.
And this one day, while tripping through time,
You messaged me silently and thought I was fine.
We built a friendship through a monitor's glass,
Usually an effort for me but now a wee task.
Two worlds apart are from where we come,
How would it all add up to a profitable sum?
I was shaky and terrified at this unexpected event,
I tried to shake you off! so to a friend you were sent.
But leave me alone to wander my journey,
You would not do, no! you wouldn't desert me.
Persistent dedication and a heart filled with hope,
You crowded me cleverly ... you wouldn't take "nope!".
You made me wake up and truly see you,
Time to pay the piper ... our destination was due.
We finally met on a dark, trouble-filled night,
And we spent the hours sharing until it was light.
We hadn't yet arrived at our final dock,
More time would spill out before the tick of the clock.
My words sent you packing, without further thought,
I returned to my own world, so weary and fraught!
But push! went the button on that box on my desk,
And there you were, be it lover or task.
Again we conversed and covered the details,
Of our meeting and fleeting, and how we had failed.
But time passed daily, never wanting to part,
We started the process to once again start.
And over a short time, finally all fell together,
This time when we met ... this time would be better.
The months raced on and a new plan was fixed,
And much to our amazement, we were melded and mixed.
And now three years later, a ring on my hand,
How wonderfully happy we took a brave stand.
For how could I know when I pushed on that button,
That all my tomorrows would eventually produce one.
My life is so happy, and filled daily with bliss,
I come home, say "I love you", and kiss your sweet lips.
You're ebony, me ivory, come whatever will be,
Entwined together ... for eternity.
So this Valentine's Day brings me great joy,
To have such a husband ... my gorgeous boy-toy!
>From the tip of your head to the toes of your feet,
My life has never been better ... and never so sweet!
I love you, I love you, of that you can be sure,
And the woes of life's living, we will surely endure.
So I've taken a moment from this day's first breaking,
To tell you now ... that my heart is not aching.
The girl you met on the net that day,
Is your woman, your wife, your playmate to stay.
Thank you, oh thank you! For finding me lonely,
And building a life for you and I only!
Happy Valentine's Day ...
it may be corny ... but:
I love you,
CJ
"You"
from Amanda
I am a 24 year old mom of son Randy age 3. I wrote this
poem for him when he was 6 months old. It still gives me peace to see him in everything he
does. I want you to know that I never title my poems but for you I titled this one as
"You".
Touch my heart,
Tickle my soul,
As you sleep soundly,
I kiss your eyes.
How did I live?
What was it like?
I can't remember...
Before you.
Your smile,
Your laugh,
Your X's and O's,
Warms me.
Forever is real,
There is a future,
I understand the past,
Since you...
I kiss your eyes,
As you sleep soundly,
Tickle my soul,
Touch my heart.
"Pure
Perfection"
by LuckyStarz
You, my dear, are the very picture of perfection You always
know what to say, and when to say it, you are pure perfection no matter how you portray
it.
You, my love, are entirely entire, quite an individualist,
to which I must admire.
It seemed I had everything, everything until, I noticed a
void in my heart, a void you helped to fill, I knew there was something else, something
more, and that was you, je t'ador.
"Illusions of
the Night"
His eyes sparkle like bright stars of the night.
His hair beams a shade of pure ebony.
His contagious laugh shows his inner light,
With a voice sweet as a bird's harmony
His gentle touch jolts the beat of my heart.
As our eyes meet, love cherubs dance with glee.
Knowing for certain, we shall never part,
My passion inspires him, as his doth me.
Our romance grows deeper as days go past.
Sweet memories we shall make and cherish.
Our souls, as one, will eternally last.
Without his love, I would surely perish.
The cherubs are leaving, "Don't go!" I scream.
"But, why?" I ask....
It was only a dream.
"Yesterday,
Today & Tomorrow"
by Norma Jean
I'm sending you this poem so it could maybe touch someone's
heart. It's about me and my boyfriend and how everything came to be and will be someday. I
hope you enjoy it.
Yesterday I counted the seconds until we talked
and though of you as I walked
hoping to see your gorgeous face
so I could give you a loving embrace
Today as we walk side by side
I remember it's been a tough ride
all the things that we've been through
have told me our love is true
Tomorrow will be the same
only I'll have a different last name
We'll be together you'll see
It'll be me and you for all eternity
"Heart's A Poem
to Papa"
By Asha
age: 6 eleven twelfths
Hearts stand for Love, that brings a good
cheer.
But most of all a Valentine gives most those hearts to people.
Most things are shaped like hearts but don't know
that it stands for love!
My heart is a place where God lives.
"364 days"
By Carmen
Billing's,Montana 2/9/01
364 days have since gone by since I told you last,
Happy Valentines Day, It's been a blast,
Why does it take a special day
to remember the good things
that you've done for me,
I should know and keep in my heart
the love you have had for me
The warmth I felt was the beat of your heart,
You took me into your arms so carefully,
Much like Jesus you loved me
before my life got its start
The countless months,day and years
of pain, laughter and some tears
have slowly gone by without a thank you
You met my needs without regret
I was a kid what did you expect?
Now I've grown and I've had time to think
I've hurt, I've laughed and cried some too,
Wow, I've really learned to appreciate you!
I wish I could call and say I love you
I wish I could hold you just one more time
I wish you could feel my hearts desire,
It's to late for me to do this all,
As we both know the Lord made his call,
So now I don't wait for that day
to say thanks and tell you how special you are
I just raise my head and look for your star
every night and every day I whisper to the clouds
Mom I love you Happy Valentines Day. |
